  • South Jackson

    • Outdoor Recreation & Eco-Tourism: Leverage the wooded areas, lakes, and Pearl River access to create eco-tourism opportunities like hiking trails, campgrounds, and nature reserves. A state park or eco-lodge development could attract visitors. Paintball park, and build a racetrack.

    • Commerce Corridors: Develop the long thoroughfares (like Terry Road and McDowell Road) into thriving business districts with mixed-use spaces, featuring retail, office spaces, and housing.

    • Affordable Housing Expansion: Given the available land, incentivize residential developments catering to middle-class families and first-time homebuyers, with a focus on green living communities.

    • Make the area walkable and bikeable.

    • Discuss a plan to connect South Jackson with HWY 49 via Elton Rd, and West Harper St.

  • West Jackson

    • Industrial Hub & Workforce Development: Capitalize on Industrial Drive, Watkins Drive, and HWY 80 to attract new manufacturers, logistics hubs, and tech-driven businesses. Partner with Hinds Community College for workforce training programs.

    • Revitalization of Lake Hico: Develope Lake Hico as a public recreation area, integrating it into the larger West Jackson revitalization effort. Include fishing, boating, and an outdoor amphitheater. New housing with mixed zoning ranging from luxury apartments and condos to market value homes with affordable pathways to ownership. Increase entertainment and business districts and add connecting parkways vertically and horizontally and make the entire project walkable with sidewalks and bike paths.

    • Zoo & Cultural District: Revamp the Jackson Zoo with interactive exhibits, conservation initiatives, and partnerships with local schools. Surrounding areas could develop into a cultural district featuring art galleries, music venues, and food markets. Increase the safety and value of the surrounding neighborhoods. (This plan stands if we do not relocate the zoo.

  • Downtown Jackson

    • Live-Work-Play Renaissance: Incentivize more residential development downtown, offering modern lofts and condos to attract young professionals.

    • Historic & Cultural Tourism: Restore and promote historic sites like Farish Street as a blues and jazz cultural corridor with live music venues, museums, and boutique shops.

    • Business & Innovation Hub: Create a startup incubator space downtown to attract small businesses and tech companies, utilizing underutilized office buildings.

    • Develop land on the Pearl River and create riverfront property downtown for residential, commercial, and recreational development. Make the Pearl River accessible.

    • Retail & Entertainment Expansion: Enhance shopping centers like Highland Village and expand dining/entertainment options, including a high-end food hall or live music venue.

    • Higher Education Corridor: Strengthen the area around Tougaloo College by fostering a tech and innovation district, attracting research labs and startup incubators.

    • Green Spaces & Family-Friendly Amenities: Invest in park expansions, walking trails, and sports complexes to attract young families and professionals. Bring more healthful and modern dining options, and fitness initiatives. Build family recreational centers and family based mixed use developments.

    • Invest in the expansion of Fondren to have better traffic flow, add quality housing for medical professionals who work at the local hospitals and add attractions for the community along West St.

  • East Jackson Development Priorities

    • Active Senior Living & Retirement-Friendly Housing – Develop active senior communities, mixed-use luxury apartments, and affordable independent living options, ensuring a vibrant and accessible environment for retirees.

    • Health & Wellness Hub – Establish a medical and wellness campus with specialized senior healthcare, rehab centers, fitness facilities, and fresh food markets, leveraging East Jackson’s proximity to major hospitals.

    • Entertainment, Recreation & Social Spaces – Create arts districts, golf courses, parks, and waterfront attractions like riverwalks, casinos, and marina access, providing seniors and residents with vibrant leisure options.

    • Pearl Riverfront Development – Integrate high-end residential, retail, and business spaces with recreational amenities like walking trails, boat docks, and restaurants, making East Jackson a premier waterfront destination.

A New Jackson

We will build a new Jackson that gives EVERY citizen the opportunity to succeed — regardless of their economic status, what they look like, or what political party they vote for.

  • We will redefine the foundation of our city by retiring what no longer serves us, revising outdated systems, and recovering lost resources. This includes eliminating inefficiencies such as unnecessary positions, taxes, and regulations, while addressing mismanagement and failures in critical systems like water and accounting. By aligning our city’s priorities with a vision for the future, we will create a clean slate to build upon, focused on transparency, accountability, and progress.

  • We will redesign Jackson to reflect a bold and modern identity that prioritizes innovation, culture, and inclusivity. This means reimagining public spaces, community resources, and the way we serve our citizens. By showcasing our rich heritage of art, entertainment, and food, we will create a brand for Jackson that inspires confidence and attracts businesses, tourists, and investment. Our redesign will include updating public services, integrating new technologies, and crafting spaces that foster connection and creativity, ensuring Jackson meets the needs of today and the aspirations of tomorrow.

  • We will redevelop Jackson into a city of opportunity, innovation, and growth. This includes rebuilding and modernizing our infrastructure—such as water systems, roads, and public spaces—to create a strong foundation for the future. We will revitalize neighborhoods, create new developments, and incorporate advanced technology to make city services more efficient and accessible. By focusing on smart development, economic revitalization, and community-centric growth, we will ensure Jackson becomes a city where every citizen can thrive and every dream finds its place.
